The Small hamlet of Polzeath has a magnificent surfing beach, known to be one of Cornwall's finest - a surfer's paradise - and there is the breathtaking scenery of the cliffs from Pentire to Port Quin offering wonderful walking country.
The vast Atlantic rollers pound this safe beach making ideal sport for surfers and has a vast expanse of sand ideal for children. As well as all the usual facilities, there is a centre for a Voluntary Marine Wildlife Area initiated by North Cornwall Heritage Coast and Countryside Service, who also promote an under-standing of the area through walks, talks and beach events.

Polzeath Beach
Polzeath is a great family beach making it a very popular beach destination with both holiday makers and locals. Polzeath beach is a large west facing triangle of flat level sands, flanked by the sea to the west and by low cliffs on the other two sides, which along with the rocky ledges that line the beach, create sheltered alcoves - ideal for family days on the beach.
The beach leads right up to the edge of the village, with the road through and a small beachside carpark forming the boundary. The hamlet has a very laid back - surfer atmosphere.
At high tide, there is a small patch of beach left unexposed adjacent to the road. As the tide goes out, this small section of sand opens up into a vast gently shelving beach of high quality sand that stretches for about 500m.

Polzeath is one of North Cornwall's Safest beaches that has all the all the facilities that you expect from a Blue Flag quality beach. The Village has shops providing, snacks, meals and refreshments, as well as the usual beach shops, providing holiday souvenirs and beach goods.
Although Polzeath beach is generally regarded as a a safe family friendly beach, caution is advised as the beach's Western aspect, means that it is often exposed to large surf, created by the Atlantic swell and dangerous rip currents can be formed - so care should be taken at all times
The beach has a seasonal Life guard Service, with vehicles based on the beach. The Lifeguards actively manage the beach activities with flags clearly marking areas for surfing and swimming.

Polzeath has ample parking with several car parks located around the beach and a small with pay and display parking facility right on the beach - plus a large carpark adjacent to the Tristram camping park, on the headland to the South of the beach a large grass car park that offers excellent views across to New Polzeath.
