NORTH CORNWALL BEACHES
Bude, Crackington Haven, Trebarwith Strand & Portgaverne

The coastal area surrounding the popular holiday town of Bude offers visitors some of the best beaches in Cornwall, as well as some of the most magnificent coastal scenery.

The beaches of Sandy Mouth, Summerleaze and Widemouth Sands always prove popular with families due to their excellent facilities and golden sands.

Further west visitors can find the breathtaking beauty of Crackington Haven, Bossiney Cove and Trebarwith Strand as well as the villages of Boscastle with its picturesque harbour and Tintagel with its ruined mediaeval castle thought to be the Camelot of Arthurian Legend.

A small, but popular west facing beach adjacent to Stepple Point. Access to the beach is easy and level, from the National Trust car park. Taking the coastal path will offer you some spendid examples of Cornish coastal scenery at its best.

SANDYMOUTH

A popular but pebbly beach with large areas of sand exposed at low tide. This beach is in prime condition with sand, rocks and many rock pools. The area around Sandymouth is classed as a Heritage Coast, and therefore, walking is recommended but keep an eye on the tide.

NORTHCOTT MOUTH

An attractive west facing beach. The higher parts of the beach are comprised of a mixture of sand and pebbles, with large expanses of sand being exposed as the tide recedes. Popular with surfers and swimmers.

A small but popular bay with a mixture of pebbles and sand. Large expanses of sand exposed at low tide. Due to the small size of the beach it does tend to become quite congested in the summer. Short accessible descent from car park to beach.

SUMMERLEAZE

A wide, west facing, sandy bay. One of the most popular beaches of the area and hence it becomes congested in the height of the season. The beach is surrounded by dunes on one side and the canal on the other. Easy access from adjacent car park.

WIDEMOUTH BAY

A two mile, west facing, flat stretch of sand backed by low cliffs and grassy fields. Due to the accessibility of the beach, it becomes very popular during the summer months. Easily accessible from the adjacent car park.

Crackington Haven Beach



CRACKINGTON HAVEN

A spectacular scenic area. The beach at high tide is mainly pebbles but a good area of sand is exposed at low tide. Crackington lies within the Heritage Coast area. Easily accessible from the car park.

BOSSINEY COVE
  • Car park - 10 min steep walk to beach

A small sheltered cove, with spetacular scenery. The north facing beach is sheltered by the surrounding cliffs. Access is via a steep ½ mile path from the car park. Unsuitable for pushchairs.

Trebarwith Strand - Cornwall


TREBARWITH STRAND

A reasonably large area of sand and rocks at low tide. Located at the bottom of a deep valley with many attractive views along the Heritage Coastline towards Gull Rock. Easily accessible from parking area via a short walk down the hill.

PORTGAVERNE
  • Car park - 5 min walk to beach

This is a fairly small, north facing, pebbly beach, with sands exposed at low tide. Access is via a five minute walk down the hill from the car park located on the outskirts of Port Isaac.
