Port Isaac has been welcoming visitors for more than 100 years, but unlike many villages in Cornwall, it still retains it traditional character, and remains unspoilt.
Within a few miles of Port Isaac, for the more energetic, there are opportunities for sailing, surfing, horse riding, cycling on the Camel Trail, several golf courses, and beautiful wide sandy beaches for just relaxing. The coastal footpath runs through Port Isaac, and there are plenty of well signed inland walks too.
Port Isaac is one of Cornwall's most picturesque coastal villages and a wonderful destination for a relaxing Cornish holiday. Nestled on the rugged North Cornwall coast, this historic fishing village is famous for its narrow winding streets, whitewashed cottages, traditional harbour and spectacular sea views. Staying in a Port Isaac holiday cottage puts you within easy reach of beautiful beaches, coastal walks, historic attractions and some of Cornwall's finest scenery.
Explore the village on foot and wander through its charming streets down towards the harbour, where fishing boats still operate from the sheltered cove. The South West Coast Path passes directly through Port Isaac, offering spectacular walks along dramatic cliffs with panoramic views across the Atlantic. Nearby beaches including Port Gaverne, Polzeath and Daymer Bay provide opportunities for swimming, surfing, rock pooling and relaxing beside the sea.
Port Isaac is also ideally placed for exploring North Cornwall. The popular seaside towns of Padstow, Rock, Wadebridge and Polzeath are all within easy driving distance, while attractions such as Tintagel Castle, Bodmin Moor and the Eden Project make excellent days out. The Camel Trail, accessible from nearby Wadebridge, is another popular choice for families and cyclists.
Food lovers will find plenty to enjoy in and around Port Isaac, from traditional Cornish pasties and fresh local seafood to excellent restaurants and welcoming village pubs. The village is particularly well known for its connection with the television series Doc Martin, with filming locations throughout the village adding another interesting dimension to a visit.
Whether you're looking for a romantic coastal escape, a family beach holiday or a base for exploring Cornwall, Providence Holiday Cottage offer an ideal combination of character, scenery and easy access to the very best of North Cornwall.
