Boscastle is the ideal base for touring Cornwall and North Devon throughout the year. The villages of Boscastle and Port lsaac and the legendary birthplace of King Arthur at Tintagel are within a short drive. Exploring further afield, there are stately homes and gardens, medieval castles and archaeological sites.
A walk though Boscastle's harbour leads yopu to the coastal footpath and cliffs, where you will discover some of Britain's most beautiful and dramatic coastal scenery, while, a short walk away, there are footpaths that lead into quiet, wooded valleys and onto the edges of the atmospheric moors.
King Arthur's castle at Tintagel, some of Britain's best surfing beaches, the Camel Cycle Trail, the Eden Project, Doc Martin's Port Isaac and the National Trust's Lanhydrock are all no more than a 30-40 minute drive away.
The village itself, featured in "A Seaside Parish", has three traditional public houses, which feature live music several times a week, a variety of restaurants and shops and The Museum of Witchcraft.
Leisure activities in the area include horse riding, several excellent, challenging golf courses, sea fishing and a variety of watersports. Nearby sandy beaches are at Crackington Haven, Bossiney and Trebarwith Strand.
