CORNISH RIVIERA BEACHES
Pentewan, Carlyon Bay, Par Sands, Readymoney Cove
This section of the Cornish coastline offers some spectacular coastal scenery and good family beaches.
St Austell Bay has some fantastic beaches, Porthpean and Carylon Bay, popular with families for their excellent facilities, soft golden sand and safe bathing.
Further east is the bustling harbour town of Fowey with its many shops, restaurants and cafes. There is also a regular ferry service across the estuary to Polruan.

A wide sandy beach, over half a mile long. The surrounding area is occupied by the Pentewan Sands Caravan Park, which allows visitors to utilise its facilities upon payment for parking. Flat, easy access to the beach. East facing.

Attractive, east facing beach of sand, easily accessed via a slight incline from the car park. Popular with families because of its safe bathing.

A long south facing bay of soft sand which is currently being re-developed, althoug the beach is still accessible. Easily accessed from adjoining parking area. Polgaver Bay, at the far eastern end of the bay was Cornwall's first official naturist beach.

A large expanse of firm sand and dunes even at high tide. Popular in summer, this south facing beach is easily reached from the adjacent parking area.

An attractive, small curved sandy beach in the shelter of a harbour wall. Popular with families because of its safe bathing. Easily reached from parking area via short, inclined walk.

A pleasant sandy south facing cove largely covered at high tide. Reached via a 10 minute walk from the parking area down an unmade track. Accessible by pushchair with some difficulty. No facilities.

A small and sheltered, sandy cove overlooking the Fowey Estuary. Limited space at high tide. Accessible by path via a 5 minute walk from parking area.
