ROSELAND PENINSULA BEACHES St Mawes, Roseland Peninsula & Gorran Haven
Few places in Cornwall can compare with the Roseland Peninsula
- one of the most picturesque and unspoilt parts of the British Isles.
Lovely beaches and cliffs, delightful rivers and countryside, pretty villages
and hamlets all make the Roseland the perfect holiday setting.
Gorran Haven to the east is an unspoilt seaside village
with a popular beach offering some of the safest bathing the County. Further
east is the thriving fishing port of Mevagissey with its picturesque harbour
and abundance of accommodation, pubs/restaurants, shops and cafes.
Several small south facing beaches are revealed at lower
states of the tide in the small attractive harbourside community. A seasonal
pleasure trip service and foot ferry operate between Falmouth and St Mawes.

Rarely crowded south east facing beach comprising of a
deceptively large crescent of sand/pebble with rock pools at low tide.
Access via a 250 yard path from parking area.

A wide, south east facing cove of sand just north of Portscatho
fishing village. Reached via a five minute walk from the parking area.
Other smaller beaches available in and around Portscatho at low tide.

A large, popular south facing family beach of sand. Rocks
revealed between Pendower and Carne at low tide. Access from adjacent
parking areas. Excellent views over Gerrans Bay to Nare Head on the one
side and Portscatho and beyond on the other.

A continuation of Pendower Beach, Carne at low tide offers
a good area of sand and shingle with rocks at either end of the beach.
However, at periods of high tide the beach is considerably reduced. Good
views over Gorrans Bay. South facing.

Two (east and west) south facing sandy beaches beaches
with rock pools. Are completely covered at high tide. Easy level access
on the west side and a slipway on the east.

A sheltered, south facing sandy beach in an attractive
cove. Very popular with families throughout the year. Overlooked by Caerhays
Castle, a striking private residence. Parking behind the beach allows
easy level access.

Secluded and rarely busy, Vault Beach provides a long strip
of sand and shingle with rocks at low tide. Access from parking via a
10 minute walk. Though accessible there are probably easier beaches in
the area for those with pushchairs. South east facing. This beach is used
by naturists

A wide, attractive east facing beach of sand easily accessed
via a slight incline from the car park. Popular with families becasue
of its safe bathing.
