36 golf clubs, courses and driving ranges across Cornwall's finest coastal and parkland landscapes
Looking for somewhere to stay while you play? See our Golf Holiday Accommodation in Cornwall guide for cottages, B&Bs and holiday parks close to the courses.
Cornwall offers one of the most varied golfing landscapes in England, with 36 courses, clubs and driving ranges ranging from dramatic coastal links to sheltered parkland settings. In the north, St Enodoc Golf Club at Rock and Trevose Golf & Country Club near Constantine Bay rank among the country's most celebrated links courses, their fairways carved through dune systems with sweeping views over the Camel Estuary and the Atlantic. Further along the coast, Bude & North Cornwall and Perranporth Golf Club continue that classic links tradition, both playable year-round thanks to naturally free-draining ground.
Inland, courses such as Lanhydrock, Launceston and Bowood Park sit within wooded parkland, offering a quieter test away from the coastal wind, while St Mellion International Resort in the east is home to a championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus and has hosted several European Tour events. To the far west and south, West Cornwall Golf Club at Lelant, Cape Cornwall near St Just, and Mullion - the most southerly course in England - all combine golf with some of the county's most memorable coastal scenery. For a shorter or more relaxed round, pay-and-play courses and driving ranges such as Ivyleaf, Hayle Golf Range and the newly opened Halwyn Golf Centre offer a beginner-friendly alternative to a full 18 holes.
Many of Cornwall's courses carry the pedigree of golf's great early architects. James Braid, five times Open champion, shaped Perranporth, St Austell and Budock Vean; Harry Colt laid out Trevose and Newquay; Harry Vardon designed Looe; and Willie Fernie of Troon created the dramatic clifftop links at Whitsand Bay. That heritage, combined with the county's natural dunes, cliffs and river valleys, is part of what makes Cornwall one of England's richest golfing destinations.
Whether you're planning a golfing holiday around several courses or looking for a single round while staying in Cornwall, most clubs welcome visitors and non-members, though a handicap certificate is sometimes required.
