Koru Kayaking
St Agnes & Helford, Cornwall - guided sea kayak and paddleboard adventures
Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes, Cornwall, TR5 0RU | 07794 321827
Discover the coast you can only reach by kayak
Koru Kayaking runs guided sea kayak and paddleboard adventures along two very different stretches of the Cornish coastline, opening up sea caves, coves and stretches of water that simply aren't accessible any other way. On the north coast, the St Agnes Kayak Adventure launches from Trevaunance Cove and follows the dramatic, colourful cliffs of the St Agnes Heritage Coast - part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site - threading through rock arches and sea caves with a good chance of spotting Atlantic grey seals, and occasionally dolphins, basking sharks and sunfish.
On the south coast, the Helford Kayak Adventure launches from the private foreshore of the Budock Vean Hotel near Falmouth, paddling the calm, wooded waters of the Helford River towards Frenchman's Creek or out into Falmouth Bay - a gentler adventure through oak woodland, secluded beaches and, depending on the tide, the chance to explore old shipwreck sites. A Helford SUP Adventure covers similar ground on a stand-up paddleboard for those who fancy something a little different. All three trips run for around two hours and are guided throughout by an experienced instructor, with swimming at a secluded beach included on warm days.
No previous kayaking or paddleboarding experience is needed - sessions start with a full safety briefing and basic paddling instruction, and use stable, easy-to-handle sit-on kayaks (tandem doubles are available for those paddling with children or less confident partners). Koru Kayaking is a WiSe-certified operator, a Cornwall Wildlife Trust business supporter, and works alongside the RNLI on safety at St Agnes - the company has also been featured by the Guardian, the BBC, the Times and the Independent, and picked up a TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice award.
