Wesdale is great for couples, families and friends of up to 8 people. Our cottage retains its traditional charms but has been constantly upgraded over the years. It is very quiet and is set at the end of a small lane surrounded by greenery.
Wake up to the sounds of birds, badgers and pheasants. Enjoy the gorgeous views across the fields from the Estuary to the Moors.
Remember how holidays used to be - enjoyable, natural,
refreshing and relaxed?
Wesdale has been a holiday favourite for many years.
Discover the favourite haunts of local residents Doc Martin, John Betjeman and Poldark.
Polzeath is famous for its magnificent beach. Atlantic rollers create a surfers' paradise, whilst the vast expanse of fine sand makes Polzeath the ideal location for a family holiday and learning to surf.
Greenaway Beach is accessible only by foot - just 10 minutes' walk from Wesdale. Even in peak period it is quiet and great for sunning or shrimping on the rocks. At low spring tide Big Cave Bay is a must for surfing.
Daymer Bay - a favourite of the Cameron family - has expansive sand sheltered from the surf rollers, with enormous appeal for small children with buckets and spades. An excellent wind- and kite-surfing spot. The nearby St Enodoc Church is the final resting place of Sir John Betjeman.
Rock is one of the major watersports centres in Cornwall - sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing and canoeing - and home to the famous St Enodoc Golf course. Enjoy the pubs and cafes or take a ferry to Padstow, the home of Rick Stein and his emporium.
From Padstow hire a bicycle and cycle along the shoreline on the old railway line to Wadebridge (6 miles) or on past Bodmin. Beautiful views and lots of local wildlife and seabirds to admire.
The National Trust land stretches from Polzeath to Pentire Point and round the coast to Port Quinn, Port Isaac (re-named Port Wenn for the Doc Martin TV series) and on to Tintagel. The scenery is breathtaking with wide open spaces where you can be at one with nature.
The area has something for everyone: Coasteering, Cycling, Golf (St Enodoc & The Point), Indoor Pools, Indoor Rock climbing, Horse Riding, Kitesurfing, Sailing, Surfing, Tennis, Trekking, Waterskiing, Wakeboarding, Wild Swimming, Windsurfing
Again, something for all tastes and budgets from pasties to fine dining with Nathan Outlaw and Rick Stein. And as for pubs - pubs with a view, pubs with history, pubs with food, pubs with live bands, pubs with restaurants… the choice is yours with several just a stroll away from Wesdale.
