Chapel Amble is approximately 3 miles from the nearest main town of Wadebridge where you will find plenty of shops and access to the Camel Trail, a well known riverside cycle trail which will take you to Padstow, one way or, to Bodmin in the other . You can hire bicycles in Wadebridge, or just walk if you prefer.
After a hectic day on the beach you will appreciate being able to return to the peace and quiet of the countryside or make a quick visit to the Walmesley bird sanctuary, a reserve of the Cornwall Birdwatching and Preservation Society
The beautiful beaches of Rock, Daymer Bay and Polzeath are just a 10 minute drive away. From Rock you can also take a short ferry ride to Padstow. Further afield are the National Trust property of Lanhydrock House (20mins), the Eden Project, near St. Austell and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, both approximately 30 minutes away. To the north are Port Isaac and Boscastle with numerous points from which you can access the North Cornwall Coastal Path.
