Local Area Information
Sun Dance Cottage is 2 miles from the town of Camelford
(range of local shops, banks, pubs), and 1 mile from the village of Delabole
(petrol station, local shops and pub). The beautiful Trebarwith Bay, famous
for its terrific surf and the idyllically located Port William Inn, is
only three miles away. Other great surfing and swimming beaches are Polzeath
and Rock - each only 6 miles from the cottage. The North Cornwall Coastal
Path follows the entire length of the Cornish coast and can be accessed
locally.
There is a range of local activities including King Arthur's
Museum, and the Cycle Museum both within one mile of the cottage. Camelford
Leisure Centre with its indoor swimming pool is 2 miles away. For the
fishing enthusiast there is a well stocked trout lake at Delabole and
if your preference is for sea fishing, there is plenty of beach and boat
casting available.
A little further afield are the attractive harbours and
fishing villages of Port Isaac, Padstow and Boscastle - where you can
enjoy walking around picturesque streets and boutique shops or visit high
quality local pubs and restaurants.
The Eden Project is only a 30 minute drive away. This section
of the North Cornwall coast has missed most of the holiday developments
of the last few decades and remains some of best unspoiled coastline in
England. The sheer cliffs, exhilarating surf and terrific coastal walks
are a perfect setting for those who enjoy surfing, hiking, fishing and
anyone who is searching for an escape from the fast lane.
