Our year round daily tariff includes a full English Breakfast. Picnic lunches are available by prior arrangement and refrigerators are provided in all rooms for guest’s convenience. All rooms are either shower or full bath en-suite. Double occupancy is from £58.00 to £63.00 per room at all times. Single occupancy is from £38.00 to £40.00 per room at all times. A £20 deposit of per room (or card details) is required at the time of booking. Exclusively adults, no children under 12, or pets. We are happy to accept payment by: Cash, major debit /credit cards (Not Amex) and cheques supported by a cheque guarantee card.

Dating from the middle of the 19th Century, Strathallan is a beautiful Georgian house that once formed part of the Penrose Manor estate on the edge of the ancient market town of Helston

Helston is the original "Quaint old Cornish Town", home of the Furry Dance held each year on May 8th - FLORA DAY- and is still a busy country community, with its narrow bustling streets and old-world charm.

It is ideally situated for touring and exploring the whole of West Cornwall by foot or by bus, whilst the enchanting Isles of Scilly are within easy reach by Helicopter or Steamer out of Penzance.

Accommodation

Two public rooms are provided for guest use, the dining room and a guest lounge. The dining room, shown above, is a split level, dual aspect room seating fourteen; overlooking the garden to the rear and car park and road to the front. The guest lounge, below, is a smaller room with comfortable seating for four.

A large fish tank, the residents of which understand all languages but sadly, converse in none. Tell them your troubles, they are good listeners.

This comfortable lounge also houses our free "wired" Internet access points for up to six guests simultaneously. Just plug one of our LAN cables into the back of your laptop and surf away. A small range of reading material is also available here.

The Strathallan consists of seven letting bedrooms, numbered 1 through 8 (yes we can count but we don't have a "Room 2"). Rooms are individually decorated, so no corporate uniformity here!!! All rooms have private facilities and one also has a bath.

Each room is centrally heated and comprises a refrigerator, hair drier, radio alarm direct-dial inter-connecting telephone and television - some with DVD or VHS.

Local Area

Although Strathallan is situated in the heart of this lovely old town, it is nevertheless quiet and peaceful. There is a secluded garden in which you may wish to relax or smoke, and the beautiful Penrose walks with boating lake, skate-board park and cafe are just a few minutes away.

The National Trust woodland walks through the Penrose Valley are some of the finest in the West Country. Well marked trails take you around Loe Pool, Cornwall's largest freshwater lake, to the sandbar which separates the Pool from the Atlantic Ocean and then on to Porthleven, the mainland's most southerly port that boasts spectacular views across Mount's Bay and the Atlantic. .
