ACCOMMODATION

We have 17 rooms and all are newly created. Our rooms vary from standard to premier class with twin, king-size and super-king beds, with many rooms featuring a sofa bed for children up to the age of 14. We have 2 speciality rooms: a family suite which sleeps up to 2 adults and 3 children and a disabled room specifically designed to accommodate the needs of guests in wheelchairs.

All of our rooms are decorated to a high standard and have TVs with DVD players, a CD player and clock/alarm radio, direct dial telephone, hair dryer, refreshment tray and complimentary wireless broadband. All rooms have en-suite facilities with full sized baths and overhead shower.

The Restaurant

Our restaurant comprises two rooms which lead off from the bar. The first room is cosy with a beamed ceiling to seat around 20 and the second is the Ladybird Conservatory, which can seat up to 30 and has wheelchair access

. We have a fine selection of world wines and serve liqueur coffees to compliment your meal. Head chef, Matt Tippett, along with his team concentrate on providing a menu which features the best of local and seasonal ingredients.

Our traditional Sunday Roast is well worth the visit! The restaurant is open daily between noon and 2.30 pm, and 6.30 pm and 9.30pm.

The Bar The Royal boasts a large open plan bar with slate floors and a large open fire, particularly welcoming during the colder months. A non-smoking area is incorporated in the bar area, and live entertainment is provided most weekends.

We can offer a good range of real ales from our many local breweries, and a number of other beers, lagers and ciders in addition to a full range of spirits, wines and soft drinks.

Our current range of cask ales include:

Sharps Doom Bar Bitter; Skinners Betty Stoggs, Spitfire and Draft Bass together with two Guest Cask Ales. We also have both Stella Artois and Caffreys on draft .

THE ROYAL INN

Since the re-opening of the accommodation in 2004 after extensive refurbishment, we have gained an enviable reputation for the quality of our rooms, the excellence of our beers and the style of our food.

Our bedrooms have 4 star style and quality and allied to a traditional freehouse Cornish pub which serves excellent food and drink. Its all informal, relaxing and with a friendly welcome.

We are Richard and Lynne and we are partners in the business. We both grew up locally in Par and have many years experience in the Hotel and Catering industry.

The Eden Project

The Eden Project

The internationally renowned Eden Project is a mere 2 miles away, and can be easily reached by car within a matter of minutes, or, for the more adventurous, why not walk there via the beautiful Luxulyan Valley.

The Eden ProjectSituated in an old China Clay pit, the enormous 'Biomes' themselves are a wondrous sight, and the collections of plants from every corner of the world enable the visitor to experience life in the rain forests and the Mediterranean in the space of a few hours.

Truro

Truro is Cornwall's only city, but boasts and intriguing mixture of small curiosity shops, large department stores, and, of course, its famous cathedral.

St. Austell

This ancient market town is only 10 minutes drive from The Royal Inn, and you may wish to visit the St. Austell Brewery Visitor Centre, or, to the north of the town, the Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum.

Porpean Beach - near St Austell

Newquay

The fashionable resort of Newquay, with its fantastic beaches and bustling nightlife, can be reached by taking the picturesque journey along the Newquay branch line from Par station situated just opposite The Royal Inn.

Fowey

The increasingly fashionable harbour town of Fowey is only 10 minutes drive from The Royal Inn. Here you can relax down by the harbour and watch the shipping of all sorts and sizes as it makes its way up and down the estuary.

The picturesque village of Polruan can be reached by ferry, and, during the season, there is a ferry service to the quaint fishing village of Mevagissey, or why not take your car on the Bodinnick Ferry and follow the coastal road to Looe.
