Piskey (Old Cornish for 'Pixey') Cottage is a charming and traditional Cornish tin miner's cottage situated close to the beach in Portreath - sleeps 4-6.
Extensively refurbished and redecorated in early 2018, yet retaining many period features the cottage has double glazing throughout and private off street parking.
The two bedrooms upstairs sleep a total of four and are ideal for a couple with two children. One of the two sofas in the living room additionally folds out into a full size double sofabed.
A well equipped galley style kitchen is equiped with cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washing machine-dryer, microwave, toaster etc.
The sitting room also has a digital colour TV with DVD player.
The bathroom includes an electric shower over the bath.
The front of the cottage comprises a private secluded garden with lawn and table and chairs for summer dining.
Piskey Cottage is family run and we hope that you enjoy staying there as much as we do ourselves!
The cottage is less than 150 yard from the excellent sandy beach which is perfect for swimming, snorkelling, surfing, or sunbathing.
There are many fascinating rock pools for children to explore, as well as several impressive caves and dramatic cliff walks on the North Cornwall Coastal Path extending in either direction from the beach with stunning views in all directions over National Trust land and the ocean.
A short drive away are nearby attractions such as Tehidy Country Park, Cornish Tramways as well as additional beautiful beaches such as Perranporth, Porthtowan and Godrevey.
The village of Portreath offers good quality children friendly pubs, restaurants, cafes, newsagents, bakery, surf shops, bycicle hire, an essential fish & chip shop and a delightful small harbour. Redruth is just ten minutes by car or bus and offers in addition to the above, various antiques shops, a cinema and further shopping facilities.
Portreath is an ideal central base to explore Cornwall slightly further a field with attractions such as The Eden Project, Newquay, Poldark Mines, Land's End, St. Ives, Padstow, St. Michael's Mount, Minack Open Air Theatre, Bodmin Moor and the highly reccomended Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, Helston.
