Leave the hustle and bustle of city life and come and share the peace and tranquility of our small, 18th century farm, near the Helford River. Situated on the side of a valley we have panoramic views across an extensive valley area, surrounded by fields and ancient woodlands. The farm is bordered by a beautiful N.T. walk to the Helford River and Tremayne Quay, where the canopy of ancient trees will shade you from the heat of the summer, or shelter you in winter. There is plenty of space for the children to play safely .We have indoor table tennis facilities and an outdoor play area with swings and a climbing frame/slide for primary age children. There is an area for children to play football/cricket /swing ball etc. and we have small animals such as chickens, ducks, cats and pigmy goats. We have fields and woodland, which can be explored. We are open all year round, having log fires and night storage heaters for those cosy winter breaks, should you need to get away from it all for a few days. A superb location in an area of outstanding natural beauty with the rugged coastline of the Lizard Peninsula only a short drive away. The Helford Estuary offers the peace and tranquility that has inspired many authors including Daphne du Maurier in her novel Frenchman's Creek. The estuary views are amongst Cornwall's finest and a contrast to the rugged North Coast, both areas attract the serious and casual walker or birdwatcher to sample the atmosphere and see the wildlife. Within easy reach of Mudgeon Vean are places like the Lizard Peninsula, Helston, Penzance, St Ives, Falmouth and Truro- Cornwall's County Town. The Eden Project at St.Austell is a must for those visiting Cornwall. The Legendary places of Tintagel and its connection with King Arthur and Merlin, or Padstow, which has received some acclaim on National TV following a cookery series, are within driving distance. Cornwall has a long and fine heritage for you to explore, everything from historic houses and gardens to tin mining and smuggling, or you may wish to visit the many galleries that are available or one of our safe sandy beaches. For the more active, Golf, Cycling Surfing, Horse Riding etc, are all available close by, for the children there are theme parks within easy reach if required. |
