Set on Cornwall's stunning North Coast, Cubert is just 1½ miles from the beautiful bay at Holywell with its watering holes of St Pirans and Treguth Inn. Or alternatively, The Smugglers Den Inn can be found in the little hamlet of Trebellan.
There are lovely coastal walks to Perranporth or towards
Newquay taking in the local beaches of Polly Joke and
Crantock. Many sandy Surfing Beaches and Fishing Harbours located
on either coast. Golf courses including Pitch and Putt can be found
in the area.
Places of interest such as the spectacular Eden Project, The Lost
Gardens of Heligan together with NT plus English Heritage properties
and gardens are all within easy reach by road.
Farmers Markets Wednesday and Saturday can be found in the Cathedral
City of Truro, which is approximately 10 miles.
During the summer months Enterprise Boats run a river trip from Garras Warf or further up the river from Malpas (depending on the tide) to Falmouth and back.
Holywell Bay - incidentally, was featured in the latest acclaimed film ‘Summer in February’ staring amongst others Dan Stevens, who played Matthew Crawley in Downton Abbey. A lot of this melodrama took place on Holywell. As to the setting of the Cornish Author Rosamunde Pilcher famous romantic Stories and a lot of her well know Novels have been filmed at Holywell Bay.
Another film to use our local beach as a location was the James Bond movie ‘Die Another Day’. But if it’s local watering holes and restaurants you’re interested in there’s St Pirans at the entrance to the dunes leading to the beach and the Treguth Inn just a short walk up the hill, with Smugglers Den in the hamlet of Trbellen not far from Cubert, all well worth a visit.
