Around 300 years old, the house is on the site of much earlier dwellings and moorland which was farmed by our stone-age and iron-age ancestors. Their hedges of stone still surround the acre fields here and there are many fascinating ancient stone circles, quoits and burial mounds in the vicinity.

There are good places to eat nearby, memorably the Gurnard's Head along the road to Zennor (which Gilly supplies with saladings!) St Ives is a few miles further on, full of interesting restaurants and galleries and beaches. The nearest beach however, Portheras Cove, is a mere walk away from Keigwin, as is the South West Coast Path, which can take you to St Just and Land's End.
