Falmouth harbour is reputed to be the third largest natural harbour in the world, boats of all sizes come and go while the pretty pastel houses jostle for position on the hillside. The area has miles of coastal paths and safe sandy beaches.
This harbour town bustles with independent shops, a wonderful choice of pubs and restaurants (including Rick Steins Fish & Chips) and a range of annual events from Falmouth week, a sailing regatta, to the River and Oyster Festivals and ever popular Sea Shanty Festival. Falmouth is home to Tall Ships Race on a regular basis. Nearby Flushing and Mylor offer charming waterside villages with excellent pubs and plenty of friendly faces.
Leave the car at home and enjoy some time on the water! The area has a Fal River boat service with trips to pretty St Mawes and the Helford River, or you can hire a boat yourself and spend the day quietly sailing up the river. Canoe Hire, Sea Fishing, Sailing and Scuba diving course are also available.
