Perched on the edge of the harbour, the Old Coastguard Station features a traditional stone and slate design that blends seamlessly with the surrounding architecture. It offers a commanding view of the harbour and the sea beyond, which would have been essential for its former occupants to spot any incoming vessels that might have required assistance or scrutiny.
