We also have ley, or earth energy lines running through the farm, so anyone is welcome to get out their divining rods and have a go. Within easy walking distance of Porthcurno beach and the famous Minack Theatre, Chegwidden Farm is an ideal base for walking, as the coastal paths are less than a mile from the farmhouse, or touring and exploring a wide area of Cornwall. It is also ideal for bird watching. Porthgwarra is on the main migratory paths and is also within walking distance of Chegwidden Farm.
Helicopter flights and a boat crossing to the Isles of Scilly make that an excellent day trip. These are available from Penzance approx 8 miles away. In the village, two pubs both serve excellent food. The Logan Rock has low beamed ceilings and log fires, as well as a secluded beer garden for the hot summer months. Two very good restaurants are to be found at Porthcurno serving local produce, each with its own character and beautiful beaches to visit nearby. Chegwidden has three bedrooms, one twin room with views to the Isles of Scilly, one double room and a master bedroom having a four poster bed and an en-suite shower room.
A galleried hall upstairs has interesting pictures of the farm as it was many years ago. The large living area has a stained glass window depicting the legend of the ghost ship of Chegwidden and the kitchen is equipped with a microwave, washer/drier, dishwasher, colour TV plus a video and stereo system. The original the bread oven has been kept as a feature. A patio and barbecue area is available to guests and we have 5 acres of woodland, which leads down the valley to the cove at Penberth.
