Mevagissey itself, is a traditional fishing village, with quaint narrow streets that lead to the picturesque working harbour - lined with a variety of curio shops, excellent restaurants and pubs. Mevagissey harbour is always a hive of activity. On calm days during the main season a ferry the Bessie James, a 12m GRP Ferry, runs a regular 'daily' service from Mevagissey Harbour along the coast to Fowey.
