This thin strip of land separates The Harbour from Porthmeor Beach and links The Island to the mainland. It’s therefore a short walk from Porthmeor Beach, The Tate Gallery the Harbour and shops.

The town offers a vibrant mix of activities from walking to water sports, or simply relaxing lying on golden sand or taking in the eclectic mix of shops and cafes. Whilst originally a fishing port and home to a fleet of boats landing local Mackerel, Herring and Pilchards more recently it has been a colony of some of the most famous artists in the world such as Barbara Hepworth, Bernard Leach, Ben Nicholson, Alfred Wallis, Sandra Blow and Patrick Heron to name but a few.

Wandering through the picturesque mix of granite cottages in winding streets surrounded by beaches to suit every taste, you are still as likely to bump into a fisherman as an artist.
