HM
Bark Endeavour -
Visit to Falmouth in 2003
28th
March 2003 - 1st April
|
The HM
Bark Endeavour replica visited Falmouth for 5 days between 28th
march and the 2nd April 2003, fresh from its refit in Cardiff.
The Endeavour
berthed alongside the new National Maritime Museum in Falmouth -
creating an exciting opportunity for visitors to the museum, to
experience life at sea in the 18th Century and learn more of Captain
Cook, explorer, navigator and maritime pioneer. Visitors were
greeted by an Exhibition of the Endeavour at the entrance to the
building- followed by a tour around the decks of the ship.

Information
about Falmouth
|
It's as if
Cook, Banks and the crew had just stepped ashore!
Endeavour is a replica
of Captain James Cook's famous ship of discovery. Described by
the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London as the world's best replica
of an 18th century ship.
The Endeavour
allowed you to Feel the authentic atmosphere of a Tall Ship, smell the
rope, hear the creaks and groans of the timbers. It's all on board, every
last detail - the cannon, the swinging hammocks, Banks' diary, even the
barrels of salted beef.
